Our representative (your guide) will meet you at Paro airport and followed by visa formalities, collection of baggage, and transfer to the hotel or Thimphu, according to your tour program.  On the way, you can visit Simtokha Dzong, built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1627. Dinner and Overnight in the Hotel.

After breakfast, drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass. During clear weather, we stop for a while at Dochula Pass to view the Higher Himalayas. While in Punakha, visit Punakha Dzong built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. For many years, it served as the seat of the Government till the time of the second king. There is a smaller building near the main structure called Dzong Chu (Small Dzong) that housed the statue of Buddha. It is said that Zhabdrung took Palep (the Architect) to zangtopelri (heaven) while sleeping and showed him the palace of Guru Rinpoche. From this vision, the architect conceived the design for the new Dzong but the design was never committed on paper. The war materials captured during the battle with the Tibetans are preserved here. In the evening, Drive back to Thimphu. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.

After breakfast, you will be sightseeing in Thimphu. It includes: visiting the National Memorial Chorten, a monument dedicated to our Third King of Bhutan. His Late Majesty King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. The inside paintings and statues provide a very rare insight into Buddhist Philosophy. Visit the National Library, which holds a vast collection of ancient Buddhist manuscripts, followed by visiting the Painting School, famous for carving and handmade arts, and the Folk Heritage Museum. In the evening, visit Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion), built-in 1641 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal and reconstructed in 1961 by the Late King, His Majesty King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, who is regarded as the Father of Modern Bhutan. Visit Handicrafts Emporium to see the exquisite artistry of traditional crafts and textiles. In the evening, drive to Paro. Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

If you do not hike Tiger nest temple your tour of Bhutan is not complete. The hike is 2 hours for veteran hikers and leisure 3 hours for first-timer. The trail climbs through a beautiful pine forest, many of the trees are festooned with Spanish moss and an occasional grove of fluttering prayer flags.

The primary Lhakhang was built around Guru Rimpoche’s meditation cave in 1684 by the Penlop of Paro, Gyaltse Tenzin Rabgay. This incredible structure clings to the edge of a sheer rock cliff that plunges 900 meters into the valley below. Legend has it that Guru Padmasambhava, the tantric mystic who brought Buddhism to Bhutan in 747 AD, flew here on the back of a flying tiger, Dorji Drolo, said to be his favourite consort.
