Chhukha Festival(29th to 31st October,2025)

Upon your arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be welcomed by our team and drive you to Thimphu. A short stop on the way to view Tachog Lhakhang built in the 15th century by Thang Tong Gyalpo popularly known as “The iron bridge builder”. He built 108 bridges across Tibet and Bhutan, out of which 8 were built in Bhutan. Upon arrival at Thimphu,visit Tashichho dzong, seat of the national government and the central monastic body. Later visit national memorial chorten (1974) built in honor of the Third King, late His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. The paintings and statues give a rare insight into Bhutanese culture.In the evening visit the craft bazaar where you can buy Bhutanese handicrafts and art works. Dinner and overnight at Hotel in Thimphu.

In the morning, start your day with a visit to the Royal Textile Academy, where you’ll explore Bhutan’s rich weaving traditions and admire exquisite handwoven fabrics. Then, head to the National Library, home to a vast collection of ancient Buddhist texts and manuscripts. Continue your journey with a visit to Zilukha Nunnery (Drubthob Goemba), a serene monastery that offers insight into the lives of Bhutanese nuns. Next, explore the Takin Preserve Center, where you can observe the takin, Bhutan’s unique national animal, known for its unusual appearance resembling a mix of a goat and a cow.

In the afternoon, visit to Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in Thimphu, built in the 12th century by Phajo Drugom Shigpo and then visit the Tallest Sitting Buddha Statue at Kuensel Phodrang, standing 51.5 meters high and offering panoramic views of Thimphu valley. Later stroll through Changyul Park, a seven-acre urban green space along the Wangchhu River, developed as a royal initiative by His Majesty The King. The park seamlessly blends traditional Bhutanese heritage with modern green infrastructure, emphasizing sustainability and cultural preservation. Over night stay at hotel in Thimphu.

Begin your journey early from Thimphu, enjoying a scenic drive through Bhutan’s lush valleys and winding mountain roads towards Chhukha. Along the way, marvel at breathtaking views of forests, rivers, and quaint villages. Upon reaching Chhukha Dzongkhag, head straight to the Chhukha Tshechu venue, typically held at the Chhukha Dzong, a fortress that serves as the administrative and religious center of the district. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere filled with traditional masked dances (Cham), music, and religious rituals that honor Guru Rinpoche. This is a great opportunity to learn about Bhutanese culture and traditions firsthand. After experiencing the Tshechu, visit the Darla Hydro Power Viewpoint, which offers an impressive glimpse into Bhutan’s innovative hydroelectric projects and stunning scenic surroundings.Depart Chhukha in the late afternoon and drive back to Thimphu. Arrive in the evening and enjoy a relaxing dinner at your hotel in Thimphu.

Begin your journey with a scenic drive from Thimphu to Punakha. Enroute, make a stop at Dochula Pass, home to the 108 stupas (chortens), which are a striking and meaningful feature of this mountain pass. These stupas were commissioned by Her Majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, the Queen Mother of Bhutan, in honor of Bhutanese soldiers who sacrificed their lives during a military operation in 2003. The pass offers panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayas and serves as a peaceful and spiritual site. Continue your drive towards Punakha, a picturesque valley known for its rich history and cultural significance. Upon arrival, visit Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility. This sacred site is dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kunley, widely revered for his unorthodox teachings. The temple is famous for its connection to fertility and is believed to bless couples with children.

Next, head to Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan's most beautiful and historically significant fortresses. Located at the confluence of the Pho and Mo rivers, this majestic dzong is a symbol of Bhutan’s architectural grandeur and spiritual heritage. You’ll also visit the Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of the longest suspension bridges in Bhutan, offering spectacular views of the surrounding valley and dzong. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Start your day with an early breakfast in Punakha and drive towards Gangtey. On the way, stop at Wangdue Dzong, an impressive fortress perched on a hill overlooking the confluence of the Punatshangchhu and Dangchhu rivers. Wangdue Dzong is historically significant and offers stunning views of the surrounding valley. The dzong is also known for its beautiful architecture and strategic location.Later drive to Phobjikha Valley, a breathtaking glacial valley that is home to the endangered black-necked cranes during the winter months. The valley’s peaceful atmosphere and scenic beauty make it a perfect place for a tranquil escape into nature. At Gangtey, visit Gangtey Monastery, which dates back to the 17th century. It is one of the most important monasteries in Bhutan and offers panoramic views of the Phobjikha Valley. The monastery holds significant cultural and religious importance for the people of the region. Explore phobjikha valley with a visit to Black-necked Crane Information Centre to learn about the conservation efforts for these majestic birds, which migrate to the valley every winter. Drive back to Punakha. Over night stay at hotel.

After breakfast drive to Paro. On the way make a visit to Simtokha dzong built by Zhabdrung to consolidate his domain and subdue the demon. Paro is a picturesque town nestled in a valley, surrounded by mountains and lush landscapes.At Paro,visit Paro Rinpung Dzong,perched on a hilltop, is an important religious and administrative center. It offers stunning views of the Paro valley and You can also visit the National Museum of Bhutan, housed in the Ta Dzong (watchtower), to learn about Bhutan’s history, culture, and traditions. Later visit Kyichu Lhakhang one of Bhutan’s oldest and most revered temples which is a peaceful place for reflection and offers a glimpse into the country’s Buddhist heritage. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Paro.

After breakfast, start your hike through a scenic trail lined with pine forests, prayer wheels, and colorful prayer flags. The first stop is a small cafeteria about halfway up, where you can rest and enjoy tea or coffee with stunning views of the monastery. Continue the trek, passing steep sections and the famous staircase leading to the monastery.Upon arrival at Monastery, Spend time exploring the monastery, learning its history, and soaking in the serene atmosphere. Return to Paro and enroute visit Drugyel Dzong which served as a military outpost and symbolized Bhutan's sovereignty. It played a crucial role in protecting the country from Tibetan forces in the 17th century. In the evening You can relax at your hotel and enjoy the views, or take a leisurely walk around the valley to adjust to the altitude and surroundings. Dinner and over night at hotel.

After breakfast, we will transfer you to Paro International Airport for your flight departure.
