Punakha is the old capital of Bhutan and the yearly festival of Punakha Domchey happens at the beginning of the year. The festival is very unique as it hosts a dramatic recreation of the scene from the 17th-century battle with the Tibetan army. This is one of the oldest festivals of the district. The festival depicts how the local Bhutanese militia duped and defeated an invading Tibetan army and forced them to withdraw. 

The festival of Punakha is celebrated every year before the nomadic people of Laya depart back home. The Punakha Tshechu (or ‘festival’) takes place each February or March inside the incredible Punakha Dzong, the ancient capital of Bhutan. As well as being a really fun and exciting day out for the Bhutanese, the tshechu also provides devout Buddhists with an opportunity for pilgrimage and prayer.

Talo festival, renowned for its mask dances and atsara performances, features an equally popular attraction of deep religious and historical significance—the zhungdra, a Bhutanese classical dance performed by the Talo dance troupe. As the closing item on each day of the three-day Talo festival, the zhundra set consists of the three songs of Mani Sum. Samyi Sala, performed on the first day, Drukpa Dungey on the second day, and Thowachi Gangi Tselay on the final day, are the pride of the Talo people, symbolizing their cultural heritage and traditions.

Winter Trek in Western Bhutan. This four-day trek is a short and pleasant journey from Punakha to Wangduephodrang Dzongkhag. It is a fairly easy trek as the altitude only ranges between 1100-1900m and the climate is warm throughout the hike.

River Rafting and Kayaking Tour in Bhutan is new adventure activity introduced recently in Bhutan. It is done mostly in Punakha in central Bhutan and Manas River in south. Kayaking and River rafting in Bhutan is a unique experience unlike many of the more crowded rafting offered in Asia. The rafting ranges from simple grade 1 to fast-flowing rivers of Bhutan.

It is a 3 days trek at relatively low elevations, which visits several remote villages. This is not a very popular Trek but very easy. This trek can be done with kids above 6 years also.

Bhutan have 745 Bird species of 89 families across Bhutan. One of the unique bird of Bhutan are Black Necked Crane and white bellied Heron. The popular Birding sights are Lamperi Royal Park in Thimphu, Bumdeling National Park in Trashi Yangtse and and Zhemgang in Central Bhutan.

Druk Path Trek is one of the most beautiful treks in Bhutan. This Bhutan Trek is a moderate six-day trek. This trek is popular for its breathtaking views as you cross the chain of mountains that separates the Paro and the Thimphu valley. Druk Path trek has two ending routes. One ends at Phajoding and other at Tshaluna.
