Ura Valley in Bumthang consists of ten major villages- Tangsibi, Shingnyeer, Shingkhar, Pangkhar, Somthrang, Beteng, Trabi, Tarshong, Toepa, and Chari with a total household of 301 and a population of 2288, covering an area of 265.6 sq. kilometres with 81.8% of forest coverage. The Gewog is located in the southeastern part of Bumthang District with a 48km distance from Dzongkhag. It is bordered by Chhokhor and Chhumig Gewog to the west, Tang Gewog to the north, Zhemgang and Mongar District to the south, and Lhuentse District to the east. The altitude of the gewog is 3101 meters above sea level. The Ura valley is located around 3100 meters above sea level. It takes roughly an hour and a half to drive east from Jakar.
