Tour of The Dragon

Tour of the Dragon. The race was created by His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel U. Wangchuck, president of the Bhutan olympic committe and all around sportsman and keen biking enthusiast. Tour of the Dragon is one of the most challenging one-day events in the world, the race covers 268Km absolutely Himalayan Landscape as it takes cyclists from eastern Bhutan to western Bhutan. The cyclist traverse indomitable mountains travel through pristine, virgin mountains, over babbling streams and raging rivers. The elevation ranges from 1200- 3340m.

Day 1 :

Arrival at Paro Airport

Arrival at Paro airport. Paro is a small airport in Bhutan and the only airport. Paro is a small town with a total area of 1285.5sq. Km, the region’s farm produces some of the finest Bhutan staple red rice. If time permits we will also visit Drugyel Dzong. Today we will take you to Paro town for an evening walk and acclimatize. OverNight at Hotel.

Day 2 :

Paro to Bumthang Via Flight

Your early morning flight to Bumthang from Paro is amazing. It’s 25 minutes flight covering western Bhutan. Our team from Tour Bhutan will receive you at Batpalathang airport and drive you to Hotel and get yourself relaxed. Bumthang is home to some of the Kingdom’s most ancient and precious Buddhist sites.

Day 3 :

Paro to Thimphu (268Km Ride)

Your ByCycle will be carried and reach your destination on the same day. Our team will make everything ready before you begin your 235Km journey on a cycle.

The tour starts at 2 Am in the morning with many tourists and locals participating in the program. There will be a health team, Mechanics, and support staff to assist you on the way if in case you decide to stop the ride. Our Tour Bhutan staff will be there to serve you Lunch and refreshment on the way. The first person reaching the destination will be received by the president of Olympic. The ride also awards with certifucate and cash prize. Over night at Hotel.

Day 4 :

Thimphu Tour

Thimphu is the capital of Bhutan and is the largest city of Bhutan. It is situated in the western part of Bhutan and has a population of about 100000 people. The city is spread out longitudinally in a north-south direction on the west bank of the valley formed by the Thimphu river. The city contains all major government offices and 17th-century Dzongs which houses the office of Kings and ministers of Bhutan. Over Night at Hotel.

Day 5 :

Thimphu to Paro and See off

Your Adventure tour of Bhutan ends here with our guide seeing you off at the airport. The drive takes approximately 1 hour from Thimphu to reach Paro Airport.
