Bhutan Festival Dates 2026

Bhutan festivals for 2026 are ready if you are planning to visit Bhutan during festival. Festivals known as “Tshechus,” are vibrant, colourful events deeply rooted in Buddhist traditions. Held annually in various districts, these festivals feature masked dances, music, and rituals performed by monks and locals to honor Guru Rinpoche, who introduced Buddhism to Bhutan. The dances, or “cham,” depict moral tales, historical events, and spiritual teachings. Tshechus are also social gatherings, fostering community spirit and cultural pride. The most famous Tshechus occur in Paro, Thimphu, and Bumthang, attracting both locals and tourists. These festivals are a window into Bhutan’s rich heritage and spiritual essence.
