Itinerary

Arrival Paro and drive to Thimphu. Thimphu is the only capital in the world where there is no traffic light and white gloved police personal handles the traffic throughout the day. The capital lies at an altitude of 2200m and is about 1 hour drive from Paro Airport. Upon landing at Paro airport our team will assist you and brief you about Tour itinerary. Upon reaching Thimphu visit centenary farmers weekend market. Here you see people from all walks of life to sell their local products. The products like local rice, apples, bananas and many other fresh fruits and vegetables are displayed. You can also buy if you are the lover of veggies. In the evening visit Thimphu town, explore the area.

Thimphu city tour. Today we will be visiting Textile museam, Folk Heritage, 13th arts and craft School. In the evening we will visit Tashichhodzong. Textile museam showcase the textile product from all over Bhutan, locals from villages, they weave and send their finished product for sale in the capital to tourist and local buyers. Visit the fold heritage museam; the glimpse of local life style of Bhutanese people is displayed here. You can see traditional kitchen, barn, century old house and prayer wheel. You will be taken back to century old culture of Bhutan when the local guide here explain the detail of how Bhutanese people lived peacefully before the medern technology and concrete building took over the ancient life style. In the evening visit Tashichhodzong the office of the King of Bhutan and Minister. Over night at Hotel.

Punakha is 3 hours drive from Thimphu. 30 minutes drive from thimphu we reach the Dochula pass, beautiful view point where you are greeted with 10 prominent Himalayan mountain Ranges.We will spend more time here at pass. We shall go for a hike towards small monastery on the dochula mountains and exjoy the beauty of nature. Further drive towards punakha valley we come across Chimi Lhakhang located on a small hillock over looking Lobesa valley. The temple is dedicated to Phallus master saint Drukpa Kuenley. You will also come across small soveniors shop selling small phaluses. If you are with family and not comfortable our guide will inform you in advance. Over night at Hotel.

Bumthang is 4 hoursa drive from Punakha via Trongsa. Now we ascend to higher valley and colder region than Punakha. Punakha is temperate valley with warm weather where as Bumthang is Alpine with cold temperature. On the way you might come across Yaks and rhododendrons that makes our journey more fun and interesting. You cross two high pass of Pelela and Yotongla before reaching Bumthang. If time permit we will visit Trongsa dzong, Trongsa Museam and in Bumthang visit Jakar Dzong. Over night at Hotel.

Attend the festival. The festival begins with local monks performing Puja first and offering of prayer to local deities. It is followed by Mask Dance, Local secular dance and blessings by monks. This is the great opportunity to interact with locals of Bumthang and taste the delicacy of Bumthang. The festival gibves the insight of Bhutanese culture and lifestyle of how the local lived their life. Over night at Hotel.

25 minutes mountain flight from Bumthang to Paro. We start our flight from Batpalatahng airport to Paro International Airport. The airport is just 15 minutes drive from Hotel. Our team will be waiting to take you to the airport. Our guide will accompany you till Paro and continue the tour. The mountain flights ofer you the great view of Bumthang, Trongsa, Punakha and Thimphu. You can also view all four Dzongs of Bhutan.

In the afternoon visit Drugyel Dzong recently restored to its former glory. The dzong has a beautifull hostory of how it protected the people pf Paro from Tibetan Invasion, that is why its called victory dzong. Visit Dungtse Lhakhang. The temple has four pillar chained to its ground. Local beleive that if the chain is broken the temple will fly to Tibet where it came from. In the evening do some shopping to take back home.

Tangsibji Mani festival ends here today. We will drop you to the airport and see you off.
